Aim

The overall aim of this post basic bachelor Nursing programme is to prepare middle level Nursing manpower to serving the different hospital and community settings by imparting both practical and theoretical Knowledge in the area of preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative care to the clients and also function as managers provide leadership and act as a change agent for the provision of quality care and conduct need based research studies in different setting area of Hospital and community.

Overall objectives of this programme:

·         To produce academically and practically competent professional in the Nursing field.

·         To prepare Nursing manpower with adequate knowledge with new vision to cope with the challenges of new millennium in the Nursing field.

·         Develop the leadership capabilities of Nursing professionals in the management of Nursing services at various level's Health programme.

·         Collaborating with local and national health authorities to propagate education to ensure preventive premotive poemotive rehabilitative care.

·         Providing highest quality service to the people by utilizing appropriate technology and develop positive attitudes of health professional to encourage them to provide more accessible and equitable Nursing service for disadvantaged groups and communities.

The specific objectives of the post basic bachelor Nurse course:

After the completion of the two years course the graduate will be able to achieve the following objectives:

·         Communicate effectively with individual's families and groups in different setting area of society.

·         Apply the knowledge from basic science concepts of social behavior science and Nursing theories in providing quality nursing care for all age groups of society.

·         Identify the socio-cultural beliefs and practices which influence individuals/ perception and responses to his/ her illness and support those which are beneficial to his/her health.

·         Demonstrate the understanding of individual difference whole caring for the patient and dealing with people.

·         Demonstrate effective teaching skills both in formal and non formal setting.

·         Seek and mobilize the available resources needed for health care delivery.

·         Apply the preventive and therapeutic measures directed towards would promotion, maintenance and restoration of health by using the principle of primary health care and reproductive health.

·         Recognizes mental health condition and provide adequate care to the clients.

·         Make critical decisions by using the Nursing process in all activities and adopting to situational changes in the working environment.

·         Recognize the importance of personal and professional goal growth and development.

·         Apply the epidemiological concept and principle in order to solve the community problem.

·         Use the principles of management while functioning in leadership and supervisory positions in the hospital and community.

·         Conduct need based research studies in Hospital & community setting.

National Academy of Medical Sciences believes on:

·         Nursing is a dynamic process, which focuses on need base problems solving and decision making in all Nursing care activities by emphasizing on Nursing process.

·         This institute believes that leadership in Nursing is to visualize a clear vision of national & institutional goal which demonstrate in problem solving decision making and at all levels of health care setting .
